i) Recycling Project.

A group of interactors from LSK had worked together and made an attempt to collect the recycleable items in and out the school. This was a community service project. We kick-started from our school at around 8.30 a.m. and ended it at the Beautiful Gate Home in Lebuh Turi. We collected those recycleable items and separated them to their respective categories as well. We collected items such as newspapers, tins, water bottles, plastics and so on. They were indeed delighted with our hardwork and commitment. This project was an instant success.

ii) Board of Director's Meeting.

The Interact Club of SMK La Salle, Klang had conducted a B.O.D's meeting on the month of September. The meeting was held in class 5U. Our teacher advisors, Pn.Jasvir Kaur and Pn.Tilagawathy were present on that day. We were unable to contact the Rotarians due to the eleventh hour plan on having the meeting. The meeting started at 12.30 p.m. All the board of directors were present on that day. All the board of directors presented their own reports for the entire month. They also suggested projects and activities to be carried out for the following months. This meeting was well-handled and it went on smoothly.

On the 31st of August 2010, The Interact Coordinating Council of Klang had organized a merdeka walk in conjunction with the Independence Day. There are around 150 interactors from Klang who participated in this auspicious event. Breakfast were served early in the morning specially for us. We walked around Klang Town and distributed Malaysia flags to most the passer-bys. We were cheering our respective school's Interact cheers while walking around. After the walk,we assembled back at the field in Royal Klang Club. Lips smacking food were provided there. There were a few performances by the interactors from each school and two representatives from each school were chosen to give a talk regarding their respective posters with the theme of Independence Day. There were parents and outsiders who participated in this event as well.
In conclusion, this event was a great success.

We, the interactors of LSK helped to decorate the school compound in conjunction with the Independence Day. National flags and banners were hung all around the school. This year's Merdeka celebration was an instant success. Credit to all the interactors who helped out throughout the event. Bravo Interactors!

Farewell Party.

The real value of a particular person will only be realized in their absence. This sentence trully ran thru' our minds when we had a farewell party for our beloved seniors. Around 10 of the interactors together with our seniors had a farewell party in the Nyonya Kitchen, Bayu Perdana. A variety of food were served on that night. Although we were upset upon their retirement, but we still managed to have a whale of time with our seniors and nevertheless, with our two beloved teachers, Pn. Jasvir & Pn. Thilagawathy.

For the month of July -

i) Cleaning up the ELS room.

In the month of July, a community service was carried out in the school. The project was to clear up our English Language Society room. This project was led by our community service director Int. Hari Shiv Raam. Around 20 of our interactors were involved in this project and being supervised by our teacher advisor Pn.Tilagawathy. Our duty on that day was to sweep the floors, wiping the fans & windows, dusting the tables. This activity was a great success as the room received an overall treatment to improve its appearance. Special thanks to all the interactors involved in this activity and congratulations for the job well done.

ii) Cleaning up the rock garden.

The rock garden has been the place where we, the interactors are stationed and any of our particular mission usually starts at there. Approximately 20 of our interactors cleaned up the whole garden as it looked pretty dirty since there were not much maintanence being done to the garden for a long time time. Initially our garden was a old timer, so we decided to give the garden a brand new look with a cleaner surroundings and it looks much more pleasant now. Now, the garden looks well-groomed.

On the 19th of June, the Musical Nite was held at KEC from 7pm to 10pm. The event was a total success. There were performances, food served and lucky draws too. In total, the event was a truly enjoyable one.

Volunteer Project at Zoo Negara

On the 7th of May 2010, a convoy of 29 Interactors went to Zoo Negara as early as 7.50 am to lend ahand to clean up the zoo recently. They were divided into groups and were brought to different parts of the zoo where the animals were kept and had the experience of a lifetime. Some cleaned the animal enclosures, prepared meals for the animals, fed the animals while some had to even clean the elephant's dung with their bare hands. It was a once in a lifetime experience for the Interactors and also the teachers, Pn. Jasvir Kaur and Pn. Tilagawathy. Finally, the event all of us have been waiting for took place. On the 13th of March, in the school hall of SMK La Salle Klang, this annual event was held. Blood Donation Drive 2010

On the 12th of February 2010, we organized a blood drive project at AEON Jusco Bukit Tinggi, Klang in association with Blood Bank of Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah. It ran from 11am in the morning till 4pm in the evening and proved to be worth the hardwork put in. The response turned out much better than expected as a total number of 50 people volunteered to donate. However, 12 of them were rejected for certain reasons. This project was definitely not an easy task. To the organisers and Interactors, Bravo...Job Well Done...Congratulations!!.....And not to forget the kind hearts who donated on that day, a big THANK YOU to you. We appreciate your kindness and hope it will be repaid. SAY IT DO IT LIVE IT!!!!...

Service and Funding during "Sukan Tara"

On the 26th of January 2010, the annual "Sukan Tara" was held at the Stadium Sultan Sulaiman Klang. The Interactors sold 15 cartons of drinks throughout the event. Though faced with lots of competition from other clubs, all drinks were sold off before the event drew to an end. Besides this funding project, the Interactors who were put in charge of maintaining the cleanliness cleared the stadium during and after the event was over. Overall, the project was a successful and meaningful activity that was worth the effort. SAY IT DO IT LIVE IT!!!!!!.......

Service and Funding during Cross Country 2010

This is the 1st official project for the year 2010 and it definitely proved to be a very meaningful one. The Interactors helped out in organizing this annual school event in many ways. They distributed food to the teachers and the rest of the volunteers of the day. They were also involved in maintaining the cleanliness of the compound for the whole event. Lastly, the Interactors set up a stall and sold can drinks such as 100 plus and 7-up to the participants. It was a satisfying day in the end as our Interactors managed to provide their ever ready service towards the school as well as carry out a funding project to fund the club. SAY IT DO IT LIVE IT!!

41st DISTRICT INTERACT CONFERENCE

For the 41st time, the District Interact Conference was held in INTI University College, Nilai from the 10-13 December 2009. A contigent of 20 Interactors from the Interact Club of SMK La Salle Klang represented the school proudly. This conference definitely left its mark in Interact history as many histories were created. Firstly, for the past 40 years, the conference has been only for 3 days and 2 nights. However, this time, the conference was held for 4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS without charging the participants a single cent extra. For the first time, this entire conference was organised by Interactors under the Rotary Club of Klang. Usually, this event is organised by Rotarians or Rotaractors. That is a whole lot of achievement. The conference which accomodated 700 participants saw a host of activities mainly sessions by guest speakers on various topics. Overall, the entire conference which was organised by the Rotary Club of Klang was a huge success from the Interactors' point of view. We SAID IT WE DID IT WE LIVED IT.....viva la interact!!!!

Best Wishes Project!

In conjunction with the PMR and SPM examinations, the form 3 Interactors carried out a special project catered to these group of students. This best wishes project was all about sending dedications to friends who are sitting for their upcoming examinations. This project was aimed at providing a platform for students to express their wishes for their friends and also to strengthen the bonds between all Interact Club based schools. Some of the dedications were notepads, pens, pencils and much more.

Mural Painting..

The plan to carry out the project of making the giant flag out of recyclable items collected. The project was completed with satisfactory as many challenges were faced during the process. First of all, the project which was supposed to be carried out on the 1st of September was delayed to the next day due to technical errors. While carrying out the project, there strong winds disrupting the arrangements of the papers and the cardboards. Anyway, the determination of the Interactors and the Leos brought success to the project. Although the result was far from expected, it was a lesson learnt. Painting of Rock Garden

The Rock Garden has always been the home of our Interactors. We repainted the whole garden as it looked old and rusty since there were not much maintanence done on the garden for some time. Anyway, since the Independence Day is just around the corner, the garden was give a new look with a new coat of black and white paint. The garden now looks spick and span. Viva La Interact.

In conjunction with Independance Day this year, a few Interactors decorated the school compound.They hung up flags and banners from one building block to another. Lets Make a Difference....

We have come up with a ingenious idea in conjunction with the Independence Day celebration this year. We will be collecting recyclable items such as cans, plastic bottles, newspapers and cardboards as much as possible. These items would not go straight to the recycling centre to be recycled. The Interact Club & Leo Club of SMK La Salle Klang would attempt to make history by using these collected items to make a flag that will be situated on the field of our school. As this attempt is not an easy one, we will be needing all the support, help & contributions from the others especially other schools in Klang. Please feel free to offer a helping hand in making this effort a successful one. As a start, on the 14th of August, a number of Interactors & Leos joined forces to go around the school compound and the housing area of Southern Park to collect recyclable items. It proved to be a worthy effort as around 10 garbage bags were filled & brought back to school to be kept in the recycling room. We sincerely hope this attempt will be a successful one. Cleaning of ELS room

On the 10th of August, a community service project was carried out in the school. The project was to clear up the English Lab of our school. The project which was led by the Community Service Director, Murugan, involved approximately 10 Interactors while being supervised by Pn. Tilagawathy, our teacher advisor. Some of the chores that were done during this project were sweeping the floor, dusting the tables & chairs, clearing the cupboards & so on.This activity proved to be a success as the room received a complete makeover after the cleaning took place. The t-shirt has been officially unveiled in the general meeting at 12.30:56 07/08/09...What a history the club has achieved. The t-shirts were handed out to the members during the meeting. event was held in our school SMK La Salle Klang on the 20th of June 2009.This gotong-royong is a joint effort by the old La Sallians old La Sallians Association of Klang (OLAK), Leo club, prefect’s, students and Interact club. A total of 20 interactors participated in this event.

> Cleaning up the hall

As our first assignment, we cleaned up the school hall. We swept the hall and cleaned the windows of the hall. Besides that, we also cleaned the stage.

> Cleaning up the English Language Society Room

Some interactors also cleaned up the English Language Lab. 4 interactors helped out in this event. We cleaned the table and chairs as they are very dusty. We also cleaned the fans. Morever, we arranged the table and chairs in the room.

> Cleaning of classes

We were also assigned to help out the students at different locations. Rotarian Adrian Minjoot also participated in this event. He help to clean up the paint the classrooms. He also cleans the class and retain its cleanliness. Besides that, his wife along with her children helped out as well. As for the interactors, we helped other students paint the class room and clean it up. Apart from that, we also helped the teachers to bring down some old and unwanted stuff. The event ended at approximately 1.00 p.m.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Interact Club of SMK La Salle Klang conducted our annual general meeting on the 19th of June 2009 in 5U. Rotarian Adrian Minjoot, Rotarian Gerard attended our annual general meeting. Our teacher advisors Pn.Jasvir Kaur and Tilagawathy were also present. The meeting started at 12.30 p.m. The board of directors of year 08/09 presented their whole year report. They also announced their project and activities throughout the year 2008/2009. These are the among of the projects that they have done and their contribution towards this club.

Leadership Seminar, Installation & Award Ceremony

> LEADERSHIP SEMINAR

The Interact Club of SMK La Salle Klang attended the Installation Day which was held at Klang Executive Club(KEC) on the 27th June 2009 along with 9 other interact clubs from different schools. Before the installation and award ceremony started, interactors especially the incoming committee members attended a leadership seminar conducted by the Rotarians at the Convention Hall of the Klang Executive Club. It started at 8.00 a.m. and ended at 1.00 p.m. Talks and speeches were given by the Rotarians to provide guidance on how to carry out their duties well and what their roles are as committee members. Apart from that, a brief speech about leadership qualities was conducted by the HICT CEO from Help International College of Technology (HICT).

> INSTALLATION

After the leadership seminar, the installation ceremony was conducted. All of the incoming committee members from 10 schools including SMK La Salle Klang took turns to be installed. The outgoing board of directors handed in their jewels and installed the incoming committee members. There were also stunning and remarkable performances from the participating schools. After the installation ceremony, there was a talk about Youth Exchange Programme by 1 of the speakers.
