Lets Make a Difference....

We have come up with a ingenious idea in conjunction with the Independence Day celebration this year. We will be collecting recyclable items such as cans, plastic bottles, newspapers and cardboards as much as possible. These items would not go straight to the recycling centre to be recycled. The Interact Club & Leo Club of SMK La Salle Klang would attempt to make history by using these collected items to make a flag that will be situated on the field of our school. As this attempt is not an easy one, we will be needing all the support, help & contributions from the others especially other schools in Klang. Please feel free to offer a helping hand in making this effort a successful one. As a start, on the 14th of August, a number of Interactors & Leos joined forces to go around the school compound and the housing area of Southern Park to collect recyclable items. It proved to be a worthy effort as around 10 garbage bags were filled & brought back to school to be kept in the recycling room. We sincerely hope this attempt will be a successful one. Cleaning of ELS room

On the 10th of August, a community service project was carried out in the school. The project was to clear up the English Lab of our school. The project which was led by the Community Service Director, Murugan, involved approximately 10 Interactors while being supervised by Pn. Tilagawathy, our teacher advisor. Some of the chores that were done during this project were sweeping the floor, dusting the tables & chairs, clearing the cupboards & so on.This activity proved to be a success as the room received a complete makeover after the cleaning took place. Club T-shirt......

The t-shirt has been officially unveiled in the general meeting at 12.30:56 07/08/09...What a history the club has achieved. The t-shirts were handed out to the members during the meeting. The members looked satisfied and welcomed the arrival of the shirts making its debut appearance in the meeting with cheers and claps. This is hoped to be only the beginning of the new era. There will be more of this achievements to come..VIVA LA INTERACT!!.......SAY IT DO IT LIVE IT...we will live up to this motto throughout the term...KEEP THE LA SALLIAN BURNING..

Club T-shirt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again and again we are creating history, one after another. We will be creating a club T-shirt soon. The design has been confirmed and the design will be out soon. This is the first time in the history of the Interact Club of SMK La Salle Klang, we are creating a club T-shirt. This success will go on forever...SAY IT DO IT LIVE IT....

event was held in our school SMK La Salle Klang on the 20th of June 2009.This gotong-royong is a joint effort by the old La Sallians old La Sallians Association of Klang (OLAK), Leo club, prefect’s, students and Interact club. A total of 20 interactors participated in this event.

> Cleaning up the hall

As our first assignment, we cleaned up the school hall. We swept the hall and cleaned the windows of the hall. Besides that, we also cleaned the stage.

> Cleaning up the English Language Society Room

Some interactors also cleaned up the English Language Lab. 4 interactors helped out in this event. We cleaned the table and chairs as they are very dusty. We also cleaned the fans. Morever, we arranged the table and chairs in the room.

> Cleaning of classes

We were also assigned to help out the students at different locations. Rotarian Adrian Minjoot also participated in this event. He help to clean up the paint the classrooms. He also cleans the class and retain its cleanliness. Besides that, his wife along with her children helped out as well. As for the interactors, we helped other students paint the class room and clean it up. Apart from that, we also helped the teachers to bring down some old and unwanted stuff. The event ended at approximately 1.00 p.m.

Annual General Meeting

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Interact Club of SMK La Salle Klang conducted our annual general meeting on the 19th of June 2009 in 5U. Rotarian Adrian Minjoot, Rotarian Gerard attended our annual general meeting. Our teacher advisors Pn.Jasvir Kaur and Tilagawathy were also present. The meeting started at 12.30 p.m. The board of directors of year 08/09 presented their whole year report. They also announced their project and activities throughout the year 2008/2009. These are the among of the projects that they have done and their contribution towards this club.

Leadership Seminar, Installation & Award Ceremony

> LEADERSHIP SEMINAR

The Interact Club of SMK La Salle Klang attended the Installation Day which was held at Klang Executive Club(KEC) on the 27th June 2009 along with 9 other interact clubs from different schools. Before the installation and award ceremony started, interactors especially the incoming committee members attended a leadership seminar conducted by the Rotarians at the Convention Hall of the Klang Executive Club. It started at 8.00 a.m. and ended at 1.00 p.m. Talks and speeches were given by the Rotarians to provide guidance on how to carry out their duties well and what their roles are as committee members. Apart from that, a brief speech about leadership qualities was conducted by the HICT CEO from Help International College of Technology (HICT).

> INSTALLATION

After the leadership seminar, the installation ceremony was conducted. All of the incoming committee members from 10 schools including SMK La Salle Klang took turns to be installed. The outgoing board of directors handed in their jewels and installed the incoming committee members. There were also stunning and remarkable performances from the participating schools. After the installation ceremony, there was a talk about Youth Exchange Programme by 1 of the speakers.

Awards were given to the best interactor, best International Understanding Day, best interact club and so on. Some of our interactors from SMK La Salle Klang won some of the awards.

We've got a blog!!!!!!!!

The Interact Club SMK La Salle Klang has made a remarkable comeback in many ways at this end of term 08/09 and at the start of term 09/10. One of it is the creation of this blog that will relive the La Sallian spirit. We like to thank the whole club in making this creation of blog a success.VIVA LA INTERACT!!
